Spicy Chilli Eggs

Ingredients:

  • 4 hard-boiled eggs
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 teaspoon chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Optional: Chilli flakes for extra heat
  • Fresh salad greens
  • Toasted bread or bread slices
  • For dipping: a small bowl of mayonnaise or yogurt (optional)

 

Method

 

  1. Prepare the eggs: Peel the hard-boiled eggs and set aside.
  2. Make the spicy sauce: Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the chili powder, paprika, cumin, and a pinch of salt. Stir quickly for about 30 seconds to release the spices' aroma. Optional: sprinkle some chili flakes for extra spice.
  3. Combine eggs with the sauce: Gently add the peeled eggs to the pan. Carefully toss or spoon the spicy oil mixture over the eggs to coat evenly. Cook for 1-2 minutes just to warm the eggs and infuse the flavors.
  4. Serve:  Plate the eggs alongside some salad greens and toasted bread. Serve with a side of mayonnaise or yogurt for dipping if desired.
