Spicy Chilli Eggs
Prep Time: 10 mins
Ingredients:
- 4 hard-boiled eggs
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 teaspoon chilli powder
- 1 teaspoon paprika powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
- Salt to taste
- Optional: Chilli flakes for extra heat
- Fresh salad greens
- Toasted bread or bread slices
- For dipping: a small bowl of mayonnaise or yogurt (optional)
Method
- Prepare the eggs: Peel the hard-boiled eggs and set aside.
- Make the spicy sauce: Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the chili powder, paprika, cumin, and a pinch of salt. Stir quickly for about 30 seconds to release the spices' aroma. Optional: sprinkle some chili flakes for extra spice.
- Combine eggs with the sauce: Gently add the peeled eggs to the pan. Carefully toss or spoon the spicy oil mixture over the eggs to coat evenly. Cook for 1-2 minutes just to warm the eggs and infuse the flavors.
- Serve: Plate the eggs alongside some salad greens and toasted bread. Serve with a side of mayonnaise or yogurt for dipping if desired.
